The National Planetarium Observatory is located at the Lake Gardens, Kuala Lumpur with latitude 3 degrees 9 North and longitude 101 degrees 41 East. It is 112m above sea level.
The observatory is equipped with primary 35cm Celestron C-14 robotic telescope sitting on Paramount ME German Equatorial Robotic Mount. The observatory has a 5m main dome and the telescope will be used for space science education purposes. Research in photometry, astrometry, spectroscopy, CCD imaging, astrophotography and sun observation also available. The observatory is also equipped with an automated weather station, cloud and rain sensor and all sky camera to monitor the climate condition. All system is fully robotic.
