Sky Observation
Sky Observation programs the National Planetarium is usually held at night and sometimes it is called "Night Sky Observation".
This comprehensive program aims to give members of the public a hands-on-experience in astronomical observation. This program is assisted with computer stimulations presentation whilst lectures are given inside the Space Theater before the observation activity.
This is a monthly event and the dates for observation is determined by the appearance of the new moon because during this phase the sky is expected to be dark and chances of seeing other heavenly bodies are better.
The public will be informed of the program details, such as date and objects to be observed on a particular night through this website and via the local media.
Brochures about constellations and objects to be observed on the night as well as starcharts will be distributed to the public.
The session is held from 8:30 p.m to 10:00 p,m (depending on nature of event). Brochures will be distributed from 8:30 pm onwards while telescopes are being set-up and focused towards objects of interest.
