Malaysia SiswaSat Program

Program Reka bentuk dan Pembangunan Model Nano Satelit Peringkat Siswazah

On August 2007, National Space Agency (ANGKASA) had introduced and organized a new space educational program, namely Program Reka bentuk dan Pembangunan Model Nano Satelit Peringkat Siswazah; which is also known as SiswaSat Program. This program has been inspired from the CanSat program that had been organized worldwide such as at Japan and United States.

The CanSat program has been view as a good platform to challenge innovative students to get hands-on experience in the life-cycle of a space project. Each of team member will involve with the full cycle of the satellite development consists of designing, fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, launching and operation.

CanSat is a nano-scale satellite model which all basic functions of a satellite, such as power and communication subsystems, are fitted into a soda can of 350 ml where it could perform various experiments such as attitude control, image capture and downlink as well as GPS measurement.

The objectives of this program are to provide a platform for undergraduate students to enrich knowledge, acquire experience and exchange information relating to space technology, and to promote interest in space activities among various target groups.
