Rocket Launching Technology Challenge 2010 (PTPR’10) PDF Print

Smile Great News! The Rocket Launching Technology Challenge is back! Laughing

The Rocket Launching Technology Challenge (PTPR) is an annual educational program organized by the National Space Agency (ANGKASA) in collaboration with the Division of Sports, Arts & Co-curriculum, Ministry of Education and the University of Malaya. The PTPR has entered its 8th anniversary ever since it was first introduced in 2003 as a pioneer project. It is an advanced science educational program ahead of conventional secondary school curriculum in the country.

In the challenge, students are required to create a satisfactory water rocket model that is made of 1.5 liter of carbonate drinking container in a very creative and innovative style in hopes that it will give minimum frictional forces. Subsequently, the water rocket model will be launched into the sky in order to complete a few missions with the combination of both air pressure and water via the use of a launcher. Indeed there are many scientific applications in the challenge that requires students to completely understand beforehand.

It is great to announce that the PTPR’10 is back again this year with high expectations that it will create an onset of interest as well as creative and innovative mindset among young generation in the field of exploring space science in tandem with the efforts of ANGKASA as well as Malaysia Inovatif 2010 announced by the Malaysia government.
