Pengenalan

Bahagian Pengoperasian Dan Sistem Angkasa

Fungsi utama bahagian ini adalah untuk menyediakan infrastruktur fizikal berkaitan angkasa  untuk memacu negara ke arah menjadi pusat pengopersian, pengujian, penyelidikan dan pembangunan yang terkemuka di rantau Asia.

Pengenalan

Satelit buatan manusia yang pertama mengorbit bumi ialah Sputnik 1. Ia dibina oleh Soviet Union dan telah dilancarkan pada 4 Oktober 1957. Sputnik mempunyai orbit yang berbentuk elips dan berasa pada altitud di antara 225 hingga 950 km. Sepanjang berada di orbit ia menyiarkan isyarat bip selama 21 hari sebelum terbakar di atmosfera bumi pada 4 Januari 1958.Satelit memerlukan teknologi yang unik dan tahan lasak bagi membolehkan ia bertahan sewaktu proses pelancaran dan menghadapi persekitaran angkasa yang ekstrim.

Fizikal Infrastruktur

FASILITI KAWALAN MISI ANGKASA

    Fasiliti Kawalan Misi ANGKASA adalah dimiliki dan dikendalikan oleh Agensi Angkasa Negara (ANGKASA) yang menyediakan sistem komunikasi bagi kedua-dua laluan menaik (uplink) dan laluan menurun (downlink) di antara stesen bumi dengan objek angkasa (satelit).

Makmal Kalibrasi Optik

Optical Calibration Laboratory

Optical Calibration Laboratory building was completely built in 10 March 2006. It was the pioneer lab in Malaysia that has capability to calibrate optical system of a satellite. This lab was fully operational in 6 April 2006 where there is a clean room located inside. It is a double storey building with control room for the clean room, dust control area, loading area in ground floor while the first floor is research office.

Makmal 'Assembly, Integration and Test Centre' (AITC)

Introduction:

In any spacecraft development, be it a manned or unmanned mission, for scientific research or as a space transportation, a spacecraft with its payload must be able to withstand the rigors of the lift-off and ascent environment occur during the launch phase, and, the extreme thermal conditions and operational environment experienced by the spacecraft and its payload once it is in orbit. This include the effects of intense acoustic and vibration generated by engine ignitions during lift-off, shocks generated during separation of stages and fairing, shocks during deployment of solar panels, temperature variation between extreme hot temperature to extreme cold temperature, vacuum condition, solar radiation and many other effects experienced by the spacecraft.
